Goal: Construction of ward for trauma patients with separate areas for infectious patients.
Current state of trauma surgery: Depending on the financial situation, the individual wards of Kirtipur Hospital are gradually expanded. Until now, wards for emergency, plastic surgery, general surgery, internal medicine and paediatrics are in operation with about one hundred beds. In addition, there are diagnostic areas such as radiology and endoscopy as well as sterilisation. In the moment, trauma surgery patients are treated on the general surgical ward.
Trauma ward project: The designated rooms are located in level 2 of the main building. There will be space for 23 beds and 9 toilets/showers. 6 beds with 1 toilet and 1 shower will be separated for infectious patients. Rooms for nurses and small operations such as dressing changes, x-rays or ultrasound will be centrally arranged.
