⛑️ Nepalmed – Update Sturzflut | Flash Flood
🇩🇪 Sturzflut in Rasuwa: Nepalmeds Nothilfe geht weiter
Regen und Nebel erschweren die Hilfsarbeit in Rasuwa weiterhin, mehr als eine Woche nach der Sturzflut. Hubschrauber und Fahrzeuge kommen kaum in die am schwersten betroffenen Gebiete.
Laut Regierungsangaben vom 3. September sind im Bhotekoshi-Trishuli-Narayani-Korridor über 21.000 Einsatzkräfte im Dauereinsatz, unterstützt von mehr als 700 Hubschrauberflügen. Fast 4.000 Menschen leben derzeit in Notunterkünften.
Die oberen Dörfer in Rasuwa bleiben abgeschnitten, ohne Nahrung, Strom oder Wasser. Unser Team koordiniert, im engen Kontakt mit der nepalesischen Armee, die nächste Lieferung aus Kathmandu für diese Dörfer.
Im gesamten Flutgebiet fehlen Generatoren, auch am Jibjibe Hospital, das unser Team schon zuvor beliefert hat. Unser eigenes Team sitzt weiterhin in Dhunche fest und wartet auf befahrbare Straßen. Weil Abwasserpumpen ausgefallen sind, hat Hygiene höchste Priorität.
Besonders kritisch: Menschen mit chronischen Erkrankungen brauchen dringend ihre gewohnten Medikamente, ein logistischer Kraftakt bei blockierten Straßen.
Jede Spende fließt direkt in Medikamente und Hygieneartikel. Nepalmed arbeitet dabei mit lokalen Partnern vor Ort zusammen, darunter der Leo Club of Peace Eyes Vision Vanguard und HAPSA.
Alle Nepalmed-Famulatur-Studierenden in Kathmandu sind wohlauf.

🇬🇧 Rain and fog still hamper relief efforts across Rasuwa, more than a week after the flash flood tore through the district. Helicopters and vehicles struggle to reach the hardest-hit areas.
According to government figures from 3 September, over 21,000 rescue workers are on continuous duty in the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli-Narayani corridor, supported by more than 700 helicopter flights. Almost 4,000 people currently live in emergency shelters.
The upper villages in Rasuwa remain cut off, without food, electricity or water. Our team, in close contact with the Nepali army, is coordinating the next delivery from Kathmandu for these communities.
Generators are running short across the flood zone, including at Jibjibe Hospital, which our team has supplied before. Our own team remains stranded in Dhunche, waiting for roads to clear. With sewage pumps failing, hygiene has become an urgent priority.
One issue stands out: people living with chronic illnesses urgently need their regular medication, a logistical challenge while roads stay blocked.
Every donation goes directly toward medicines and hygiene supplies. Nepalmed is working with local partners on the ground, including the Leo Club Kathmandu Peace Eyes and HAPSA.
All Nepalmed clinical placement students in Kathmandu are safe.

Mit den eingegangenen Spendengeldern unterstützt Nepalmed momentan mehrere lokale Organisationen.
Wir möchten heute eins davon vorstellen – wir sind sehr dankbar, dass sie diese anstrengende Aufgabe seit 7 Tagen so gewissenhaft durchziehen.
Paula Gratz macht gerade ihre Famulatur über Nepalmed in Nepal und ist sofort nach der Katastrophe mit eingestiegen. Mit ihr aktuell im Rasuwa-Gebiet sind Jordan Schönfelder (der eigentlich Tour Planner bei Wandermut ist) und Prekshya Chand vom Leo Club of Peace Eyes Vision Vanguard, der Jugendorganisation von Lions Clubs International. Die drei sitzen aktuell in Dhunche fest, sondieren die Lage und warten auf die nächste Lieferung aus Kathmandu.
Jack (bekannt als Nepal-Vlogger Jack Dai) ist wieder in Kathmandu und koordiniert von dort zusammen mit Suraj vom Matrika Eye Center und der nepalesischen Armee die Organisation. Auch der Rest des Leo Club rund um Aryan Ranjit arbeitet von Kathmandu aus mit, stellt Hilfspakete zusammen und arbeitet die eingegangenen Listen unermüdlich ab.
Seit Tagen sind sie kaum zum Schlafen gekommen, jetzt sitzen Paula, Jordan und Prekshya oben zusätzlich fest – die Landwege sind nicht passierbar. Das zehrt, körperlich wie mental.
Wir sind im ständigen Austausch und werden in unseren Stories weiter berichten.

🇬🇧 Who’s on the ground for us
Nepalmed is currently using the donations received to support several local organisations.
Today we’d like to introduce one of them – we’re very grateful that they’ve been carrying out this gruelling task so conscientiously for the past 7 days.
Paula Gratz is currently doing her clinical placement with Nepalmed in Nepal and joined the effort immediately after the disaster. Currently with her in the Rasuwa area are Jordan Schönfelder (who is actually a tour planner at Wandermut) and Prekshya Chand from the Kathmandu Peace Eyes Leo Club, the youth organisation of Lions Clubs International. The three of them are currently stranded in Dhunche, assessing the situation and waiting for the next delivery from Kathmandu.
Jack (known as Nepal vlogger Jack Dai) is back in Kathmandu, where he is coordinating the operation together with Suraj from the Matrika Eye Centre and the Nepalese Army. The rest of the Leo Club, led by Aryan Ranjit, is also working from Kathmandu, putting together aid parcels and tirelessly working through the lists they have received.
They have barely slept for days; now Paula, Jordan and Prekshya are also stranded up there – the land routes are impassable. It’s taking its toll, both physically and mentally.
We are in constant contact and will continue to report on the situation in our stories.
