🇩🇪 Wer für uns im Einsatz ist
Mit den eingegangenen Spendengeldern unterstützt Nepalmed momentan mehrere lokale Organisationen.
Wir möchten heute eins davon vorstellen – wir sind sehr dankbar, dass sie diese anstrengende Aufgabe seit 7 Tagen so gewissenhaft durchziehen.
Paula Gratz macht gerade ihre Famulatur über Nepalmed in Nepal und ist sofort nach der Katastrophe mit eingestiegen. Mit ihr aktuell im Rasuwa-Gebiet sind Jordan Schönfelder (der eigentlich Tour Planner bei Wandermut ist) und Prekshya Chand vom Leo Club of Peace Eyes Vision Vanguard, der Jugendorganisation von Lions Clubs International. Die drei sitzen aktuell in Dhunche fest, sondieren die Lage und warten auf die nächste Lieferung aus Kathmandu.
Jack (bekannt als Nepal-Vlogger Jack Dai) ist wieder in Kathmandu und koordiniert von dort zusammen mit Suraj vom Matrika Eye Center und der nepalesischen Armee die Organisation. Auch der Rest des Leo Club rund um Aryan Ranjit arbeitet von Kathmandu aus mit, stellt Hilfspakete zusammen und arbeitet die eingegangenen Listen unermüdlich ab.
Seit Tagen sind sie kaum zum Schlafen gekommen, jetzt sitzen Paula, Jordan und Prekshya oben zusätzlich fest – die Landwege sind nicht passierbar. Das zehrt, körperlich wie mental.
Wir sind im ständigen Austausch und werden in unseren Stories weiter berichten.
Die Menschen in Rasuwa brauchen weiterhin Hilfe.

🇬🇧 Who’s on the ground for us
Nepalmed is currently using the donations received to support several local organisations.
Today we’d like to introduce one of them – we’re very grateful that they’ve been carrying out this gruelling task so conscientiously for the past 7 days.
Paula Gratz is currently doing her clinical placement with Nepalmed in Nepal and joined the effort immediately after the disaster. Currently with her in the Rasuwa area are Jordan Schönfelder (who is actually a tour planner at Wandermut) and Prekshya Chand from the Kathmandu Peace Eyes Leo Club, the youth organisation of Lions Clubs International. The three of them are currently stranded in Dhunche, assessing the situation and waiting for the next delivery from Kathmandu.
Jack (known as Nepal vlogger Jack Dai) is back in Kathmandu, where he is coordinating the operation together with Suraj from the Matrika Eye Centre and the Nepalese Army. The rest of the Leo Club, led by Aryan Ranjit, is also working from Kathmandu, putting together aid parcels and tirelessly working through the lists they have received.
They have barely slept for days; now Paula, Jordan and Prekshya are also stranded up there – the land routes are impassable. It’s taking its toll, both physically and mentally.
We are in constant contact and will continue to report on the situation in our stories.

🇩🇪 Nach der Sturzflut in Rasuwa vor einer Woche haben sich sofort Hilfs-Teams gebildet, die ganz gezielte Hilfe für die betroffenen Menschen im Flutgebiet leisten. Wir werden sie die nächsten Tage genauer vorstellen. Sie leisten wichtige und anstrengende Arbeit, um betroffenen Menschen Hygieneartikeln, Schlafsäcke und vor allem notwendigen Medikamenten und Erste-Hilfe-Materialien bereitzustellen.

🇬🇧 Following the flash flood in Rasuwa a week ago, aid teams were immediately formed to provide targeted assistance to those affected in the flood-hit area. We will be introducing them in more detail over the next few days. They are carrying out vital and gruelling work to provide those affected with hygiene items, sleeping bags and, above all, essential medicines and first-aid supplies.

🇩🇪 Vor Ort laufen die Hilfseinsätze unserer Partner auf Hochtouren. Viele helfende Hände beladen Fahrzeuge und Lkw und bringen sie in die betroffenen Regionen. Sie stimmen sich eng ab und koordinieren Routen und Ressourcen, damit die Hilfe dort ankommt, wo sie gebraucht wird.
In den kommenden Tagen verteilen unsere Partner wie der Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers weitere Hilfsgüter vor Ort in Rasuwa:
- Grundnahrungsmittel und Trinkwasser für die vielen Menschen, die alles verloren haben
- Notunterkünfte: Zelte, Planen, Decken und Schlafsäcke für die kommenden, oft kühlen Nächte im Gebirge
- Hygieneartikel, um Krankheiten in den überfüllten Notlagern vorzubeugen
Seit unserem Spendenaufruf haben uns zahlreiche Spenden erreicht, dazu unzählige Nachrichten der Anteilnahme und Unterstützung. Das bewegt uns sehr. Wir danken von Herzen allen, die bereits gespendet haben. 🙏🏻

🇬🇧 On the ground, our partners’ relief operations are in full swing. Many helping hands are loading vehicles and lorries and transporting them to the affected regions. They are working closely together to coordinate routes and resources so that aid reaches where it is needed.
Over the coming days, our partners like the Rotary club of Himalayan Golfers will continue to distribute the following on the ground in Rasuwa:
- Basic foodstuffs and drinking water for the many people who have lost everything
- Emergency shelter: tents, tarpaulins, blankets and sleeping bags for the coming chilly nights in the mountains
- Hygiene items to prevent illness in the overcrowded emergency camps
Since our appeal for donations, we have received numerous donations, as well as countless messages of sympathy and support. This means so much to us. We would like to thank everyone who has already donated from the bottom of our hearts. 🙏🏻
