With your help, we will enable the urgently needed training of a specialist in pulmonary diseases in a region where respiratory diseases are a growing health problem due to air pollution and limited access to specialists.
Problem
Nepal is facing major health challenges:
- Kathmandu is one of the cities with the highest levels of air pollution in the world
- Chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD and asthma are increasing dramatically
- There is an acute shortage of pulmonologists for Nepal’s 30 million inhabitants
- Many patients cannot afford treatment or have to travel long distances
