At Kirtipur and Kathmandu Model Hospital, hard work is done every day—for people in need of help. Behind the scenes, the team struggles with an outdated laundry infrastructure that has long since failed to meet the demands of modern hospital operations. The washing machines and spin dryers—indispensable for daily operations—have exceeded their optimal service life. Frequent breakdowns are the result. Every breakdown means: delayed care, overburdened staff, increased costs—and, in the worst case, a risk to the hygiene standards on which patients depend.
Modernization of the Central Laundry at Kirtipur Hospital
A well-run laundry service is no small matter, it is the quiet foundation that makes proper hygiene possible.
What’s at stake:

That is what we plan to solve the problem:
The plan is to purchase a new, high-performance industrial washing machine that will meet the long-term needs of a hospital: reliable, energy-efficient, and hygienic. In addition, two industrial spin dryers will be purchased to speed up the drying process.
These investments not only make the staff’s work easier, but also directly improve the quality of patient care. Modern technology makes it possible to optimize wash cycles, reduce water consumption, and consistently maintain hygiene standards. It’s a benefit for the entire facility.
